Fourty years ago, Diana Beresford-Kroeger, a renowned botanist, biochemist and author, and her husband built a home and created a beautiful garden just south of the village of Merrickville. Their property spans 160 acres which includes a 6 acre garden and 154 acres of fields and forest. Carefully maintained and creatively planted, the garden reflects the owners’ commitment to a bioplan to protect nature. The garden contains rare and heritage flora and it is these plants, flowers and trees that form the basis of some of Dr. Kroeger’s books and television and film productions.

Wander through the vibrant perennial borders and remark on the lush phlox collection that the owners rescued many years ago from an abandoned garden. Visit the kitchen garden and the Medicine Walk. Wander along the natural stone path surrounding the water garden; reminiscent of Giverny with its lovely water lilies and 200 gold fish.

Dr. Kroeger and her husband have graciously agreed to be on hand to guide the visitor through the gardens and to answer questions. This will be a garden not to be missed! To learn more, visit Diana’s website.
